Back-To-School Ice Cream SocialWe look forward to seeing our school community together again at the Ice Cream Social on Thursday, August 18 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.!

Meet your teachers, see your friends, and enjoy some ice cream from Peppy's Ice Cream Truck. Make sure to stop by the PTO table to get your FREE ticket for ice cream and get PTO information for the upcoming year. We will be serving nearly 400 students and their families in a 1-hour period - consider visiting the PTO table before visiting your classroom to help with traffic flow. 



In lieu of having students sell anything to raise funds for the PTO, we are again doing the Wizard Donation Drive. The suggested donation is $75 for your first student and $25 for any additional students. As always, any donation amount is appreciated, and can be made via check (payable to Wickham PTO), sent via PayPal to Kate Wickham Elementary PTO, or paid online through our website

For families that make a donation  At the Ice Cream Social or BEFORE, every Wickham student in the family will receive a Wickham Slap Bracelet - while supplies last!

The Wizard Donation Drive 

The Annual Wizard Donation Drive, is the main source of revenue for the PTO. This fundraiser is chosen in lieu of any sales-type fundraisers.

The suggested amount per family is $75 for the first student, and $25 for each additional student. Although this is the suggested amount, any donation is greatly appreciated.

These donations fund:

Software subscriptions

Books Supplies for classrooms including art, P.E., music, and counseling

Playground equipment

Staff appreciation events

Educational technology

Clubs and field trips


Wickham Families may contribute via check (made payable to Wickham PTO and mailed to the Wickham office) or online through our website:


PLEASE NOTE: The textbook and planner fees are paid separately to the School District and are NOT contributions to any PTO fundraising.

PTO volunteers


After two full years of no in-person events due to COVID we need to identify new volunteers willing to help with PTO events. The Wickham PTO provides vital monetary support for field trips, playground equipment, technology, classroom supplies and special educational opportunities such as Chess Club, Spanish Club and Science Fair. Without additional volunteer support, we will no longer be able to provide the funding and enrichment events that we have in the past. Please consider volunteering for a position during the 2022-2023 school year!

Reserve The Celebration Herky

Wickham Elementary has a large Herky dressed up like a wizard prominently displayed near the entry of our school. In years past we offered families the option to rent Herky for a day to display a message of celebration (birthday, half birthday, sporting event, holiday, etc.) for your student. We ask for a $10 donation for each day that you reserve to serve as a fundraiser for PTO.

We are excited to bring back this fun tradition with a few procedure changes that ensure we are following Iowa City Community Schools COVID policy.
